Voice Reader Testing

Below is some text that I'm using to test a reader.

Is there a difference between bolded text and strong text. Similarly, is there a difference between italic text and emphasized text.

It would be nice to have some facility to provide alternate text for instances where a UTF-8 character might be used to convey some sort of meaning. I see this often in technical documents, where an arrow will be used to signify Step 1 Step 2 instructions. It doesn't appear this ability is available yet.

Apparently readers will look for a minimum amount of text before they will trigger. I read on a site the number was 516 characters, which is an odd number, I think.

Interestingly, on my iPhone I'm not hearing any difference between bold and strong text, or italic and emphasized text. I am hearing the distinction in other voice readers.

This completes the test. Thank you.
